Currently, car sharing and traditional car rental mainly differ in terms of rental duration and the handover process.
With car sharing, you can easily rent our cars via smartphone within the city of Munich without having to visit one of our rental hubs. Plus, you can rent a car for just a few minutes – for example, to get from one neighborhood to another.
With our traditional car rental service, you have the option to reserve a vehicle well in advance for a specific period. The car will be ready for you at one of our rental hubs at the booked time. However, the minimum rental period for this option is one day.
No. The CarVia Share App as well as the registration itself is completely free of charge. You only have to pay for the duration of the ride with one of our cars. Please note that during the registration process we might check if we could debit a certain amount. This is only a request to check your creditworthiness.
The registration process is really easy and – more importantly – quick. You will need you ID, your license as well as your preferred payment method. Also, you need to be at least 23 years of age (25 for some cars).
We will confirm your registration in 5 minutes tops. This way, you'll sit in the driver's seat in less than 10 minutes.
If you want to park the vehicle at Munich Airport in the car sharing parking lot P20 on level 01, a fee of €19.50 is charged in addition to the rental price. A fee is also due when driving from the airport to the Munich city centre, however you are only paying €17.50 then.
Yes, there is! We want to offer you the same pleasure and freedom of choice that you would have if you bought your own vehicle. That's why we also aim to have special cars such as the Porsche Taycan in our car sharing fleet in Munich – long term, of course.
